SEWING NEW FUTURES
We are partnering with the local association, Muhisimbi Voice of Youth in Conservation, to support vulnerable teenage mothers.
In the region, around 90 women aged 14 to 20, and their children, are living outside without the support of their family. They have left school and they have no job. These women don’t have access to basic health for themselves and their children, and simple basics such as soap and food are missing.
We believe that educating women is essential in breaking the cycle of poverty.
Our goal is to protect the young women and reinsert them in to the community by sponsoring vocational training. Vocations such as sewing allow these women to have the opportunity to achieve long term sustainable financial independence
